Who we are
PL Tilers Ltd (company no. 10400675), 54 Underwood Road, Woodford Green IG8 7LD, is the controller of personal data collected through this website, under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. What we collect
When you send an enquiry by form, email or phone we receive your name, phone number, email address, postcode and the project details you give us, including any photos or drawings. We do not ask for special category data.
Why we use it and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quotation: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).
- To carry out and manage your project, including invoices and aftercare: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep accounting and tax records: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- To deal with warranty questions or claims: our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
We never use your details for marketing without your separate consent, and we never sell them.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records of completed projects are kept for 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required by HMRC, and for as long as needed for any warranty claim.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the business: our website and email host (IONOS), our accountant, and, for your project only, any supplier or trade we need to involve. They act on our instructions and must keep your data secure. Our hosting provider stores data in the UK or the European Economic Area, which is covered by UK adequacy regulations.
Cookies
This website does not use tracking, analytics or advertising cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner. Links to Google, Instagram, LinkedIn and The Tile Association take you to their own websites, which have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. Email info@pl-tilers.co.uk and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113.
Security
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and enquiry emails are stored in a password-protected business account.
